The Mets had two injured players participating in rehab assignments tonight.
At NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton, Dillon Gee allowed three runs – two earned – on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings for the B-Mets.
Gee threw 67 of his 96 pitches for strikes.
It was Gee’s final rehab start as he works his way back from a strained groin. He will come off the disabled list and start for the Mets next Tuesday when the Mets play the Padres in San Diego.
Meanwhile, at Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie, Travis d’Arnaud began his road back to the Mets, going 0-for-3 and catching seven innings for the Single-A St. Lucie Mets.
Like Gee, d’Arnaud is also expected to be activated from the disabled list when the Mets are in San Diego next week.
He will soon depart for Las Vegas to continue his rehab assignment with the 51s.
D’Arnaud has been on the disabled list with a broken finger since April 20.
