As expected, Travis d’Arnaud took his first step towards returning today at the team’s minor league complex in Port St. Lucie.

D’artaud caught for five innings in an extended spring training game today and went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

D’Arnaud is expected to officially begin his rehab assignment tomorrow with Single-A St. Lucie, and shift his rehab to Triple-A Las Vegas by the weekend.

If all goes well, d’Arnaud could be activated early next week when the Mets are in San Diego.

d’Arnaud has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 20 with a broken finger.
