Vic Black is slowly but surely progressing towards making his season debut for the Mets.
He pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning for the Binghamton Mets with one strikeout. He threw six of his 11 pitches for strikes.
His velocity was once again steady in the low 90s but he did reach 94 mph, according to Lynn Worthy of the Binghamton Press and Sun Bulletin.
Black has now pitched in two games for Double-A Binghamton – he pitched a scoreless inning on Saturday. Presumably, he will need to pitch back-to-back games before he is considered for activation – he told Worthy he is expecting to pitch tomorrow for Binghamton.
Black has been on the 15-day disabled list with weakness in his shoulder resulting from a herniated disc in his neck.
