Both Vic Black and Bobby Parnell have been Port St. Lucie rehabbing at the team’s minor league complex for most of the early part of the season.
However, B-Mets manager Pedro Lopez told Lynn Worthy of the Binghamton Press and Sun Bulletin both Black and Parnell will join the Mets Double-A affiliate in time for tomorrow night’s game against the Akron RubberDucks at NYSEG Stadium.
Black pitched last night for Single-A St. Lucie, and allowed two doubles and a run in relief of Dillon Gee.
Parnell has not pitched since May 16 for Single-A St. Lucie. Terry Collins said at Citi Field on Thursday he was expected to pitch for St. Lucie again last night, but did not appear in their game in Dunedin.
Parnell pitched for St. Lucie in Dunedin tonight, and allowed a walk and a strikeout in one inning of work, although his fastball velocity was mostly in the low 90s.
Black has been on the disabled list with a herniated disc in his neck all season. Parnell has been on the disabled list as he continues to recover from April, 2014 Tommy John Surgery.
