

Jacob deGrom had a 5.64 ERA in four starts between April 24 and May 11, allowing 33 baserunners in 22 innings during that span.
Since then, he has allowed just one earned runs in 14 innings, going 2-0 in his last two starts to improve to 5-4 with a 2.75 ERA in nine starts this season.
After the win on Thursday, Terry Collins revealed deGrom had dealt with some minor shoulder and hip issues during his rough stretch.
DeGrom was also dealing with mechanical issues during his rough patch, and noted it was possible his injuries might have contributed to those problems which were identified and resolved before his start against the Brewers last Saturday.
DeGrom – who was given a break last summer due to similar arm discomfort – said he hasn’t felt any discomfort while pitching in his last two starts, but didn’t clarify whether or not the injuries were still an issue for him.
