Sandy Alderson was a guest on MLB Network’s MLB Now with Ken Rosenthal and Brian Kenny this afternoon, and provided some encouraging news on both Travis d’Arnaud and David Wright.
Alderson said Wright could be, “a week or so” away and d’Arnaud could be within ten days of returning to the Mets.
Alderson did not say when either might begin a rehab assignment, although is regards to Wright, Alderson has said previously he would need up five games while on rehab assignment before being considered for activation.
Having said that, it’s probably more realistic Wright’s return would be on the longer side of a week, if not a little further out.
Wright has been on the 15-day disabled list with a strained hamstring since April 15. He strained his lower back two weeks ago while working at the team’s minor league complex in Port St. Lucie. Alderson said on Monday Wright’s hamstring has been a non-issue during this part of the rehab process.
D’Arnaud has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 20 after he broke his pinky being hit by a pitch. He was cleared for full baseball activities on Monday.
