David Wright could finally be on track in his rehab from a strained hamstring and a strained lower back
Wright finally begun to perform some baseball activities at the team’s minor league complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida today, Sandy Alderson told Marc Carig of Newsday at the Manhattan Veterans Hospital this afternoon.
Wright did everything but swing a bat.
Alderson said Wright’s hamstring is not an issue at this point in the rehab process – he is now working his way back from a strained lower back.
On Sunday, Terry Collins said Wright would take things slowly today, with hopes he could ramp up his baseball activities on Tuesday in Port St. Lucie.
Last month, Alderson said Wright would need five days of rehab games before being considered for activation. Alderson did not say when Wright might begin a rehab assignment.
Wright has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 15.
