It’s been just over four weeks since David Wright strained his hamstring, and since then he has strained his lower back which has slowed his recovery and return to the Mets.
On Monday, Wright is set to resume baseball activities at the team’s minor league complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida. However, Terry Collins said on Sunday Wright will take it slow on Monday, will see how his lower back responds, and will hopefully ramp up his work on the field beginning Tuesday.
Collins did not provide a timetable for Wright to begin a rehab assignment.
Wright has been on the 15-day disabled list with a strained hamstring since April 15.
