Mets vs BrewersHere’s what I’m looking for tonight from the Mets…

Energy.

The energy, confidence and swagger – all which were present over the first two weeks of the year – have been absent over the last couple of weeks. They just look to be going through the motions out there, the body language has been depressing, as have the results. It starts with getting back to playing with a step to their game, then executing on both sides of the ball.

Get some hits.

Last night, the Mets had two hits. That’s just not acceptable against a guy with a 7.03 ERA. Garza is a very emotional guy, and once he starts to get into trouble, he can be had. It would be great for the Mets to collect some hits, put up some crooked numbers, and have a nice and relaxing evening for a change.

Play better, starting tonight.

The errors, physical and mental mistakes, and the overall lack of execution at the plate have been maddening. Quite honestly, the 7-13 mark they’ve posted since the end of the 11-game winning streak is quite deserved as a result. Regardless of when the injured guys come back, the group that’s here simply must play better. Why not have that happen beginning tonight?
