Here’s what I am looking for from the Mets tonight:
The right track.
The Mets are home, they’re playing a Brewers team which has really struggled over the first five weeks of the year, so this is a chance to right the ship and get some wins under the belt in a place they’re very comfortable playing in. It’s going to take a clean game, something the Mets haven’t played in a while, even against the Brewers.
A strong day for Wilmer Flores.
Just forget what happened yesterday, move on and try and right this ship. It’s that simple. It would be really nice to see him continue with what he did yesterday at the plate tonight, and put together a clean nine innings in the field without incident. Go get ’em.
Attitude, swagger, and hunger.
It seems like these three items have been missing from the Mets over the last few weeks. It was evident throughout camp and over the first 3 weeks of the season, but they now seem flat, unfocused, and a tad indifferent out there which has led to the lackadaisical play. A little step to their game and a re-establishment of the confidence which has gone absent would be nice to see this evening.
One response to “What to look for: Brewers vs. Mets, 7:10 PM”
Man if I didn’t know any better, I’d say that the Mets were facing 20 game winners on a night in, night out basis. They’re making Lohse look like an ace tonight.
