Travis d’Arnaud continues to progress from a broken pinky at the team’s minor league complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and he could take another step on Monday.
Sandy Alderson told reporters on Friday d’Arnaud will undergo another x-ray soon, and if all is well, he will begin swinging a bat on Monday.
It still seems d’Arnaud is at least ten days away, if not more. He’s probably a week or so from starting any sort of rehab assignment, assuming everything goes smoothly. That would put him five weeks out from the initial injury, meaning he could be back within the six-week time frame everyone seemed to place on this injury when he got hurt.
D’Arnaud has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 20 after being hit by a pitch the day prior and breaking his pinky.
