wrigley-field-2

The Mets will look to salvage the finale of their four-game series with the Cubs today at Wrigley Field at 2:20 PM ET.

6) Wilmer Flores – SS
7) Anthony Recker – C

Mets vs CubsHere’s what I’m looking for from the Mets:

Just score.

I’m certainly not reinventing the wheel with this premise: Just score. The Mets have leaned on their pitching all season and in order to continue contending and make a run to the postseason they’ll have to as their strength, but lately they’re relying too much on their pitching and it just hasn’t worked. As stellar as this staff has been for the most part, they cannot completely carry this team. At the end of the day, this Mets ball club must score runs. If they don’t, and they have not lately, they are in a whole mess of trouble. Cubs starter Travis Wood has struggled this year, and the Mets need to take advantage and put some damn runs on the board today.

  1. Hope I’m wrong, but, do NOT at all like Granderson in CF today….
    Actually, there’s a lot of things in this lineup I don’t like…
Where’s MURPHY?!🍀 I swear, Terry would have benched DiMaggio in his 56 game hitting streak, just because he ” needs a blow”…Terry costs us a game a week. It’s a prescription for 2015 disaster!

    5) Wilmer Flores – SS
    6) Curtis Granderson – RF
    7) Juan Lagares – CF
    8) Plawecki/Recker – C
    9) Pitcher

    When Wright returns:
    1) Dilson Herrera – 2B
    2) Curtis Granderson – RF
    3) David Wright – 3B
    4) Lucas Duda – 1B
    5) Michael Cuddyer – LF
    6) Juan Lagares – CF
    7) Wilmer Flores – SS

    2) Travis d’Arnaud – C
    3) David Wright – 3B

    5) Michael Cuddyer – LF
    6) Curtis Granderson – RF

Unless someone needs a day, there should be no other variation of the lineup. EVER.
