The Mets will likely be reshuffling their bullpen yet again this week.

Buddy Carlyle will probably be placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained lower back, Terry Collins told reporters in Chicago on Wednesday.

The Mets have not made the move official yet, but Carlyle will remain unavailable tonight and the club will once again play an arm short in the bullpen.

Jack Leathersich will be recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas, the team announced.

Leathersich is logical choice to be recalled. He’s on the 40-man roster, and has shown an ability to be very effective against right-handed hitters in the minor leagues. The Mets could’ve also purchased Zack Thornton’s or Chasen Bradford’s contract from Las Vegas, and potentially moved Jerry Blevins to the 60-day disabled list to accommodate one of them on the 40-man roster, but bringing Leathersich here eliminates the need to maneuver like that.

Bradford is off to a good start with Las Vegas. He has a 2.93 ERA with only two walks in 13 relief appearances for Triple-A Las Vegas this year. He has held right-handed hitters to a .546 OPS in 45 plate appearances,

Thornton has struggled in 14 appearances so far in 2015. He has a 5.17 ERA, and right-handed hitters have a .614 OPS in 44 plate appearances against him.
