Here’s a really cool thing Mets fans may not be aware of–90 minutes before every road game, reliever Buddy Carlyle selects one young fan in the stands and plays catch with them.
“It’s something that’s easy for me to do,” Carlyle told Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal. “I figure it’s something they’ll always remember.”
This past Sunday was no different, as the following video captures Carlyle making a lifetime memory for this young fan at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. “I’m not going to root for the Mets, but I will root for him,” the fan’s father told Diamond.
