Vic Black has made some progress as he works his way back from weakness resulting from a herniated disc in his neck.
Assistant GM John Ricco said Black threw a bullpen session today at the team’s minor league complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He will throw another bullpen session on Thursday, according to the team’s reporters in Chicago.
It is not yet known when Black might resume his rehab assignment. He has been on the 15-day disabled list since Opening Day.
Meanwhile, Rafael Montero is still not ready to resume baseball activities – he is still feeling discomfort in his right shoulder.
Montero has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 30 after straining his rotator cuff in a start against the Marlins on April 28.
