Buddy Carlyle dealing with hamstring, lower back stiffness

Buddy Carlyle 1 slice

BaronThe Mets injury bug has struck again.

Buddy Carlyle was forced to exit tonight’s game in the seventh inning after experiencing lower back stiffness, Terry Collins said after Monday’s 4-3 loss to the Cubs.

Carlyle was able to work around a walk in the seventh but showed reduced velocity in the two batters he faced.

He told Mike Vorkunov of the Star Ledger he’s been dealing with some hamstring soreness, and his back pain could be tied to that injury.

Collins said they will know more about Carlyle’s condition tomorrow.
