David Wright was in New York this week to visit with team doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Wright’s hamstring strain is doing, “very well,” the team said in a statement.

However, Wright has experienced lower back pain during the rehabilitation process.

Wright underwent an MRI on his back, and there is no structural damage. He will therefore resume baseball activities when he feels better.

Wright has been on the disabled list since April 15. Sandy Alderson had said Wright would need at least five days of rehab games before being considered for activation.

For now, the club has offered no timetable for his return, although Terry Collins said on Thursday he expects Wright to resume baseball activities on Monday.

  1. Backs are THE worst place for injuries-
Repeat stints out of commission from “back” issues are more numerous than knees! (Omar speaking now): that being said, this is pitiful‼️ Good thing they are keeping Murph🍀.
