BaronThe Mets have officially recalled 2B Dilson Herrera from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Herrera was hitting .370 with a home run and 11 RBI in 20 games with Las Vegas before being recalled.

To make room for Herrera on the active roster, the Mets optioned LHP Jack Leathersich back to Las Vegas.

Leathersich was recalled from Las Vegas on Tuesday night, and made his big league debut on Wednesday in Miami. He didn’t allow an earned run in two appearances, but allowed three inherited runners to score on Thursday night against the Nationals.

The move to demote Leathersich wasn’t unexpected. He was a third left-handed reliever in an eight man bullpen, leaving the bench short with three effective players.
