It is the first time in his career he’s won the first four games of a season, and is the fourth pitcher in the last 80 years aged 40 and older to accomplish such a feat. He’s coming off a solid outing against the Braves in his last start, allowing three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts in six innings. He was excellent in his last start against Miami on April 17, allowing only a run in seven innings for the win.He’s 4-2 with a 3.10 ERA with 32 strikeouts and nine walks in six career starts over 40 2/3 innings against the Marlins.

April has been historically difficult for Latos in his career – he is 4-11 with a 4.71 ERA in 23 starts in April. He owns the fourth fewest hits-per-nine innings ratio among active pitchers. Lagos is making his second start of the year against the Mets – he allowed two runs in five innings to New York back on April 18 at Citi Field. Tonight’ marks the tenth time in Latos’ career he will face the Mets – he is 2-4 with a 2.63 ERA n his career.
