BaronDavid Wright reported to the Mets minor league complex in Port St. Lucie today to resume baseball activities.

Despite the progress, Terry Collins told reporters Wright will not be activated from the disabled list when eligible on Thursday.

“He’s not that close. He won’t be here Wednesday or Thursday,” Collins said, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.

Collins said this past weekend he was hopeful Wright could return during this weekend’s series against the Nationals. However, Sandy Alderson said last week Wright would require about three weeks from the time of the injury, extending his timetable into next week.

Wright was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 15 with a mild hamstring strain.
