David Wright heading to Port St. Lucie to resume baseball activities

David Wright slice

BaronDavid Wright has been sidelined for 12 days due to a hamstring strain. But on Sunday, he made some significant progress in his rehab.

Wright will head to Port St. Lucie to resume baseball activities, and Terry Collins said this afternoon at Yankee Stadium it’s possible Wright could return next Saturday against the Nationals at Citi Field.

Wright has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 15. While there has been optimism Wright could return when eligible on April 30 against the Nationals, Sandy Alderson has said it’s more likely he would return three weeks following the injury.
