The Mets won for the 11th consecutive time on Thursday afternoon, sweeping their series from the Braves by the score of 6-3 at Citi Field.
Here are some notes about this historic run:
- This marks the fourth time in club history the Mets have won 11 games in a row. The last time was from June 17-29, 1990.
- According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Mets became only the seventh team in. Modern history to win every game on a homestand of ten games or more 1946 Red Sox, 1961 Yankees, 1970 Cubs, 1988 Red Sox, 1991 Twins).
- Also from Elias, the Mets are the fourth team from New York or Brooklyn to record a winning streak of ten games or more in April (1955 Dodgers, 1986 Mets, 1987 Yankees).
- The Mets have now won 12 straight games at home, dating back to 9/27/2014, tying a club record for consecutive wins at home.
- The Mets went 10-0 on their homestand. The previous club mark for a ten game homestand was 9-1, the last being 4/19-4/28/2010.
- The Mets outscored the opposition 53-28 during their ten game homestand.
- According to Elias, the Mets are the first team since the 2009 to start the home schedule with a 10-0 or better record.
- The Mets 13-3 start is their best since 1986, which also started 13-3.
