Suddenly lacking catching depth in the minors, the made a trade during Wednesday’s game against the Braves, acquiring C Dan Rohlfing from the Twins for cash considerations.
Rohlfing, 26, has yet to appear in a game for Triple-A Rochester this season. He hit .205 with a .307 on-base percentage in 2014 with two home runs and 23 RBI in 76 games for Rochester.
He’s a career .243 hitter with 11 home runs in 502 minor league games over eight seasons.
