Game notes: Dillon Gee is streaking, struggles in April, lack of walks

Dillon Gee 1 slice

Dillon Gee will start for the Mets tonight as they aim for their tenth consecutive win. Should they win tonight, it would be their first ten game winning streak since July, 2008.

Michael BaronHere are some notes on Gee as he aims for his first win of the year:

  • Gee has made 48 straight starts of at least five innings, dating back to May 19, 2013. It’s the longest active streak in the big leagues.
  • Since May 19, 2013, Gee is 17-15 with a 3.60 ERA, a plan of 307 1/3 innings.
  • April has typically been a struggle for Gee in his career – he is 7-8 with a 4.60 ERA in 19 career games, 18 starts.
  • Gee has walked three batters or less in each of his last 18 starts, dating back to May 4, 2014.
  • The home run ball has plagued Gee recently – he has allowed seven homers over his last seven starts, dating back to August 31, 2014.
