Kevin Plawecki, Hansel Robles called up to the Mets

Kevin Plawecki 1 slice

The Mets have placed LHP Jerry Blevins (fractured forearm) and C Travis d’Arnaud (broken hand) on the 15-day disabled list.

Michael BaronTo replace these players, The Mets have purchased C Kevin Plawecki’s contact from Triple-A Las Vegas, and have recalled RHP Hansel Robles from Triple-A Las Vegas.

To make room for Plawecki, the Mets will move Zack Wheeler to the 60-day disabled list.

Sandy Alderson said after Sunday’s win its not clear how much Plawecki will play at this point, as that will be left up to Terry Collins.

As for Robles, it makes sense to call him up while leaving Rafael Montero in Las Vegas to work as a starter, as they originally planned. He still has to get stretched out for his planned start in Miami on April 28, and that needs to happen in Las Vegas, not here.
