Jacob deGrom 1 slice

Michael BaronJacob deGrom will start for the Mets tonight against the Marlins. DeGrom earned his first win of the year last Monday against the Phillies, going 6 1/3 innings and allowing only seven hits and a walk.

Here are some notes as he and the Mets go for their seventh win in a row on Saturday:

  • DeGrom currently has an 11 1/3 scoreless inning streak in play, dating back to his first start of the year against Washington.
  • He has thrown at least six innings in each of his last 14 starts, the second-longest active such streak in the big leagues. He trails only James Shields who has 16 straight such games.
  • DeGrom has also allowed no more than seven hits in each of his last 14 starts.
  • DeGrom has won six straight decisions at Citi Field and owns a 1.56 ERA in 11 career starts at home.
  • In his last start against the Marlins on September 15, 2014 he struck out 13 in a no-decision, eight of which came to open the game which tied a modern day record (Jim Deshaies, September 23, 1986).
  • He is 6-2 with a 2.00 ERA in 12 career starts against National League East opponents.
