The Mets are still unsure when either Vic Black or Bobby Parnell are returning to the Mets, but they could take another step towards doing so soon.
On Wednesday in Washington, Sandy Alderson told Adam Rubin of ESPN New York Black and Parnell could begin their assignments once the minor league seasons begin tomorrow.
Alderson didn’t say where either might travel to for their assignments, or if they’ll pitch for Single-A St. Lucie.
Black has been sidelined with soreness and weakness in his shoulder since mid-March. He has been pitching in minor league games for a week and a half with no setbacks.
Parnell has also been pitching in minor league games in Port St. Lucie, and was originally expected to return in May. But, he said last month he could return sometime in April.
