
Much to my wife’s dismay, I am an avid baseball memorobilia collector, specifically baseball cards and lately, vintage Topps issues.
I am fascinated when old cards, jerseys, or rare assets are unearthed and made public. Such is the case for the old Mets bullpen car in which Mets relievers would be chauffeured to the diamond from the bullpen in right field.
Mets fan Jamie Scott was the owner of this artifact. But Jamie decided to put the cart up for auction at Sotheby’s and sold it for $112,500.
Even if I had the money, it would have been difficult to explain to my wife why this was in our garage as opposed to our SUV…
