The Mets conclude their Grapefruit League schedule in Jupiter this afternoon against the Cardinals at 12:05 PM. Here are a few things I am looking for today…
A quick game.
Both clubs have flights to catch, so I expect today’s game to fly by. I expect aggressiveness from both clubs at the plate, pitchers to be throwing strikes, and no extra innings.
It’s #HarveyDay.
Matt Harvey will look to cap a remarkable comeback this spring this afternoon against the Cardinals. The Mets haven’t said specifically what his pitch cap is this afternoon, but I anticipate it will be somewhere in the 90-95 range, or up to six or seven innings. He’ll also be batting eighth this afternoon ahead of Ruben Tejada.
No injuries, please.
The Mets still have two more exhibition games after today, but I expect these next few days to be pretty relaxed and the regulars to be pulled mid-way through the game for the most part. It’s obviously important everyone gets their work in, but it’s more important everybody is 100% ready to go on Monday in Washington.
Today’s game will not be aired locally, but can be seen on MLB.TV.
