The Mets will host the Cardinals in their final home game of the spring at 1:10 PM. Here are some of the things I’ll be looking for this afternoon…
This could be the Opening Day lineup.
With Daniel Murphy likely shelved for the first week of the season at least, the Mets could be previewing their Opening Day lineup against Washington on Monday. With Juan Lagares and Curtis Granderson at the top of the order the Mets are alternating righty/lefty 1-5 in the order with David Wright batting third, Lucas Duda fourth, and Michael Cuddyer fifth. Wilmer Flores bats sixth, Travis d’Arnaud seventh and Ruben Tejada eighth.
Hopefully Bartolo Colon’s final outing of the spring goes smoother.
Colon is making his final outing of the spring today, and it’s been a bumpy ride for the team’s Opening Day starter to date this spring. he was better in his last outing, but he’s allowed 18 hits in only 11 2/3 innings this spring. He’s a veteran, he knows what he’s doing, and he’s healthy, so I trust he’ll be fine starting next week, but it would be nice to see Colon end his camp on a high note.
Today’s game can be seen locally on SNY and MLB.tv.
