
Vic Black could be ready for Opening Day after all.
This afternoon, Dan Warthen told Mike Vorkunov of the Star Ledger Back is, “right on the cusp” of being ready for Opening Day.
Black feels good after throwing off flat ground earlier this week, according to Rob Brender of SNY.tv, and could throw a bullpen session this weekend.
Black has been sidelined for almost two weeks with inflammation in his right shoulder. An MRI on Black’s shoulder came back clean last weekend, but was unable to resume his throwing program early last week after reporting continued pain.
