Update, March 25, 11:40 AM: Wheeler underwent successful Tommy John Surgery this morning, and also had his flexor pronator tendon repaired in his right elbow, the team announced in a statement.
Wheeler is expected to make a complete recovery.

Original Post, 8:05 AM: Last week, RHP Zack Wheeler was diagnosed with a fully torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. It was also revealed he had a partially torn tendon in his right elbow.
Wheeler will undergo Tommy John Surgery today, he told reporters last week. The procedure will be performed by Dr. David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. Wheeler said Dr. Altchek will repair his torn tendon as well.
He will be placed on the 60-day disabled list on Opening Day, which will free up a 40-man roster spot. Wheeler said last week he expects the recovery time to be around 14 months.
