The Mets (4-6) and the Atlanta Braves (3-6) face each other for the fourth time this Spring today at 1:10 PM at Tradition Field. Here is what to look for during Friday’s game…
Jon Niese will make the start today, looking to lengthen himself out in his second appearance of the Spring. Niese threw 52 pitches in his first start, where he became fatigued and struggled after the 30 pitch mark.
Curtis Granderson is hitting in the leadoff spot. While the assumption is that Juan Lagares will most likely be the leadoff hitter come Opening Day, Granderson could still have a chance to take that spot.
The search for a left-handed relief pitcher continues as both Sean Gilmartin and Jack Leathersich are scheduled to pitch in today’s game. Gilmartin and Leathersich, in addition to Dario Alvarez and Scott Rice, who are the four lefties looking to replace Josh Edgin, have combined for a 15.43 Grapefruit League ERA.
Today’s game can be seen locally on SNY and MLB.tv.

Crossing my fingers that one day Leathersich will just put it together like Vic Black did.
